Only a few years ago Amsterdam-based artist and designer Mariska Meijers decided to quit corporate attorney life to pursue her artistic dream. With no formal art or design education she kicked off her new career with a solo exhibition in October 2005 in Singapore. Since than she has gained experience with many exhibitions around the world.

Her non pretentious art is widely loved.The rich colored stills and interiors are eclectic mix patterns and objects all bearing her personal contemporary print.

In addition to her fine-art pieces Meijers launched her first stationary design in 2008, published and distributed by Bekking&Blitz. Available at major department stores, book and museum shops throughout The Netherlands and Belgium. Her first sequence of home accessories will be launched by the end of 2009.

Meijers also takes on private and corporate commissions. “Some of my best pieces result from private and corporate commissions. I like it when clients come to me with an idea and the challenge to deliver work that captures the idea of the client without compromising my own style. I see commissions as a creative pact between the client and myself.”

Meijers has co-operated with various companies and organizations, including BNP Parisbas, ABN AMRO, ING private banking, Christie’s, The Financial Times, Asia, Sofitel/Accor Groupe, the Nobelprizewinners' charity fund Childright ,The French Embassy in The Netherlands, Staalbankiers, GMG group publishers, TOPSHOPS, Dutch celebrity chef Joop Braakhekke and culinary magazine Smaakwereld, Paul Fagel’s Arsenaal Restaurants.
